Type It Yourself

Type it yourself (formerly "Manual entry") saves your highlighted text without asking an AI model for an automatic gloss, and you add the meaning. Use it when you want full control, when you are out of Cloud credits, when local AI is unavailable, or when you prefer to add meanings later.

When manual mode helps

• You are reading somewhere with no local model running and you do not want to use Cloud.
• Ollama is offline, Nano is not available in Chrome, or you are out of AI credits.
• You want to decide the English gloss yourself instead of accepting an automatic suggestion.

How it works

1. Open the LingoLark toolbar popup.
2. Set Translation model to Type it yourself.
3. Save phrases as usual from the side panel or context menu.
4. Add or edit glosses from the saved list.

Words you type yourself still belong to your vocabulary list and keep the page where you found them. The difference is only how the English side gets filled in.

Type it yourself is the extension's default translation mode.
